Steel Force, Dorney Park's tallest and fastest coaster, finds the peak of it's tallest hill before it begins it's 205 foot drop. Backdropped by a sunset, textured by striations in cloud cover, the coaster, it's train and it's riders are in silhouette, hands in the air anticipating the drop.
Dorney Park is located in Lehigh County and is owned by Cedar Fair Entertainment. The park is a very popular destination for New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania residents seeking a day filled with fun family rides and the occasional thrill ride on one of their five roller coasters.
This shot was taken in June 2021 at sunset. Normally, the park is not in operation at this time due to covid restrictions and labor shortages, however they were hosting an extra ride time event for a coaster enthusiast group on this evening. So, basically I got lucky while pumping gas and had my camera on hand to capture the image. The image was shot from outside the park along Hamilton Boulevard.
