This is a reworked image of a photo I took this past winter at the Trexler Nature Preserve in Schnecksville, Pennsylvania. The park's Observation Trail a popular Lehigh Valley destination to watch sunsets all year round. I've taken a particular liking to this tree during the winter months. It has a tall stark silhouette that is positioned perfectly against the setting sun during this season. Standing against the valley and distant hills, this tree has an aged, yet defiant posture that I love about it.
In this version of the photography, I applied one of my custom presets which imparts a dramatic teal and orange tone. Given the dead grass and barren landscape, it felt appropriate, as it gives the image an apocalyptical barren wasteland tone that feels pretty natural during the winter months in Pennsylvania.
