A lone tree stands amongst the tall preserve grass overlooking a foggy valley below. This image was shot from the Trexler Nature Preserve's observation trail on a muggy and foggy evening as the sun was setting off frame to the west. The Trexler Nature Preserve is located in Schnecksville, Pennsylvania. On this evening, the observation trail, which gets it's name from it's advanced elevation and great views, was deserted. The preceding hours were rained out, keeping many visitors home, so it was just me and my camera....and this pretty tree overseeing the valley as the fog rolled in. It also began raining (again) the moment I packed my camera up for the night and this was one of the final images. A very soft white vignette has been applied to further isolate the tree in the image and heighten the intensity of the fog.
