Thick roots and vines of ivy climb the large and thick trunk of this tree. Despite being covered in this growth, this tree thrives in a residential neighborhood in Pennsylvania. I absolutely love the detail and texture of this scene. The old worn bark of the tree and the strong roots of the ivy encircling the trunk, almost hugging the tree as it makes it's way up higher towards more sunlight.

Creation Process
This photo has had it's background removed and replaced with a stylized vintage texture. The entire image was then processed in Topaz to apply a slight painting style to give it an artsy touch. Color and light adjustments finished off the piece.
