Artist's Description

Buttermilk Falls along the Lehigh Gorge Trail in Weatherly, Pennsylvania. This was my first visit to this section of the Delaware and Lehigh National Heritage Corridor. It's an extraordinary location to visit for a hike or bike ride with wide flat trails and easy access to the Lehigh River for rafting and kayaking. After parking in the Rockport Trailhead lot, you have amazing views of Buck Mountain Creek as it cascades through the valley and into the Lehigh River. If you travel north, you'll come across Buttermilk falls after walking for about five minutes. It's a beautiful tiered waterfall that's around 50-60 feet in height.

This view is from the wooden bridge that crosses over the falls, where it continues down into the Lehigh River. The name of the falls is printed on a sign to help visitors identify the trail's feature.
