Description
From the banks of Wild Creek Falls Lehighton, Pennsylvania. Lush summer vegetation blankets the surrounding stone hillsides with a light moss covering nearby boulders and rocks. I found this to be an extraordinarily peaceful place, even by trail standards. The only sounds, to be heard, were the songbirds and the flowing water.
Wild Creek Falls is located on the Wild Creek Trail, part of a trail system situated in the northeast corner of Beltzville State Park in Pennsylvania. The falls are about a ten minute hike from the trailhead's parking lot. The hike itself is generally easy with some climbing required if you want to get down to the river level of the falls.
Recommend visiting on a weekday, as this state park is very popular on the weekends and will normally be closed once capacity is reached. On this Thursday afternoon, we were the only visitors to the trail.
