A view directly down the length of the 8th Street Bridge in Allentown, Pennsylvania. This view from below the bridge puts the beautiful, yet simple, arch supports and drainage systems on full display. The Albertus L. Meyers bridge opened to traffic in 1913. Built by the McArthur Brothers of New York City and designed by engineering firm B.H. Davis, it was the longest and highest concrete bridge in the world at that time. This shot was taken from below the bridge and along Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and the Little Lehigh creek, both of which travel under the bridge.
