Description
The Albertus L. Meyers bridge opened to traffic in 1913. Built by the McArthur Brothers of New York City and designed by engineering firm B.H. Davis, it was the longest and highest concrete bridge in the world at that time. This shot was taken from below the bridge and along Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and the Little Lehigh creek, both of which travel under the bridge. On display is the bridge's beautifully designed concrete arches and support systems that have stood the test of time and also support over 1400 cars daily that pas over the bridge.
