What To Do? What To Do?

We are to the end of the week!! Woohoo!! Wait a minute according to the weather it is going to be a total wash out here on the gulf coast. Looking outside, this late Friday morning it appears that the weatherman has this weekend's forecast correct. The weekend usually has me out and about taking pictures of a variety of things in and around the gulf coast area. I start Monday's with Friday's in mind. However, I am not going to let this weather let me down this weekend.
So, what to do on a weekend washout, it looks like I am going to go to my rainy weekend activities. First, I know there are really some great opportunities, especially on the coast to take some rain, wind, and cloud photographs. I get it. Truth be told, I do not like getting wet. I spent many a nights playing and coaching football out in the elements, if I can avoid it, I will. As I am making a list of activities I would like to do, they include some of the following.
As an educator, I enjoy learning. There is no better time to take a class or watch some instructional videos from other photographers on everything photography. It can be anything technical. Getting the right light, aperture settings, iso settings in different situations, all of these work together to make the perfect photograph. I always try to learn from the people that have been doing it much longer than I and do a great job on their photography. In addition, I will also watch some instructional videos on Light Room and Photoshop to learn some information to get more effective on creating a better photograph. There are some incredible things that one can do to a photograph with Photoshop and Light Room.
I will also go back through some of my more recent photographs that I have been working on and editing to do some last minute fine tuning to make them look as good as possible. There are a couple of photographs that I have been working on and need to do a couple of things to and I believe they will be very nice. The issue is, I am not exactly sure how much of this or that to do, not enough this or that and the photograph is still missing something, while too much this or that and the photograph looks over edited. That should keep me busy a while.
I will then clean my equipment. I clean it after every use, however, I will take a little while and do a thorough job and make sure everything is in tip top shape. In addition, I will make sure that I have all of my filters together and accounted for, my sd cards where they are supposed to be, as well as other equipment in its proper place. At times when I am changing lens' and moving things around not everything get put back exactly how I like it.
Finally, if I have the time and energy, I will set up a couple of inside photographs that I have been wanting to take. I would much rather be outside, but taking pictures inside is much better than not taking pictures at all. I have been thinking of some photographs that will go great in a game room, man cave, or a room type of room.
Who said weekend washout? Even though the weather man has put a hold on taking those beautiful sunset photographs for the weekend; it looks like I am going to have an eventful and fun weekend doing the thing that I enjoy the most. Working on my photography.
